THE VISION

One of the greatest needs in the church today is a greater knowledge of the Word of God.

The lack of holiness often seen in our congregations is due to ignorance as to what the Lord requires of them and how they might know Him better. A greater knowledge of God's Word will produce a greater love for Him. A greater love for Him will produce an army of evangelists who hunger for the knowledge of the glory of God to cover the earth like the waters cover the sea.

YOU CANNOT LOVE WHAT YOU DO NOT KNOW. To the extent that we do not know God, we cannot love Him.

In order to see this fervent hunger for the Scriptures rise and become evident, those who lead God's people must first taste from the riches He has provided in His Word. The pastor cannot lead the sheep where he has not been himself. He cannot convey the richness of the honey until he has first tasted it. Only then can his expositions of the Word be desirable. Only then will he see the priesthood of all believers begin to mobilize and do the work of the ministry God has called all of us to do.

“Retain the standard of sound words which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.” Paul, 2 Timothy 1:13

In an effort to make this a reality, the first step is to train men to be good pastors through instilling better knowledge of the Word. This should be accomplished through training and practice in exposition and counseling from the Word. I will begin studying towards a PhD at Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY. My dissertation will treat the topic of Scripture and the Spirit. Upon graduation, I plan on beginning a church-based education for men who desire to be elders in a church. The curriculum will consist of hermeneutics, homiletics, and biblical counseling. We will accept a small group of men into the program in order to give focused attention to their doctrine and life through life-on-life discipleship.

“It seemed good to us, having become of one mind, to select men to send to you...” Acts, 15:25

Once these men have gone through our program of a year and a half, they will be sent out to churches in need of a senior pastor or will begin the work of planting a church. From here, we will begin a network of churches who are aligned theologically and relationally. These churches, in turn, will replicate the model given them, tweaking it as needed to their own context.
